Royal Air Maroc prepares for the 2030 World Cup

Royal Air Maroc is currently in the midst of negotiations with the United States and the European Union to secure additional air slots. The goal? To transport an increasing number of tourists and football fans for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, an event that will see matches taking place in Morocco, as well as in Spain and Portugal.

RAM CEO Abdelhamid Addou shared his vision for the future of the airline during a press conference. He affirmed the Moroccan airline’s determination to become a central player in the success of the next World Cup, one of the most watched events in the world.

Under his leadership, the airline has already established a solid presence in major air markets in Europe and the USA. Addou now plans to propel RAM to the next level, making it a global reference in air transport.

In anticipation of the increased air traffic for the World Cup, ambitious plans are underway to expand the airline’s main hub at Casablanca-Mohammed V Airport. The expansion project, scheduled for completion in 2029, will increase the airport’s capacity to thirty million annual visitors, just in time to accommodate the masses of international fans.
