Safar Flyer Gold: How to get the card and what are its advantages?

Upgrade to Gold Safar Flyer status: Miles required

Reaching this status is not very difficult and with smart planning you can reach an average status with a few flight bookings. The status is valid for one year for the Gold category, the membership year always runs from January 1 to December 31, regardless of the membership date. So, theoretically, you can get status for two or three years in the top ranking if you earn the required number of elite points at the beginning of January.

Safar Flyer Gold status is equivalent to oneworld Sapphire status and is the second elite status in terms of importance. The benefits are mostly limited to flights with RAM, but with Oneworld alliance partner airlines there are other benefits. On other airlines, oneworld enjoys the normal privileges of Sapphire status. All the benefits are clearly listed here:

– Earning status and award miles on all flights served by airlines belonging to Oneworld.
– Conversion of award miles into award tickets on all flights operated by RAM and its Oneworld partners.
– Check-in from the counter reserved for passengers traveling in Business class.
– Priority on waiting lists
– Preferential seats granted to the passenger until the last moments before departure.
– Additional checked baggage (23kg)
– Free access to the airport lounge
– Fast baggage handling and delivery
– Priority boarding

All you have to do is meet a few requirements, either in status Miles (1) or in qualifying flights (2), during a calendar year (between January 1st and December 31st)

The access point for reaching Gold status

– 35.000 Status-Miles or 30 qualifying flights including flights within Morocco

– Each year, on January 1st, your status Miles balance will be set at zero

Once you have earned the required number of Status-Miles or qualifying flights, you will obtain (or keep) the corresponding status for the rest of the calendar year in course plus an additional 15 months. Each time you use your Safar Flyer card, you earn Miles convertible into bonuses.

Status-Miles are qualifying Miles, which are used for the calculation of Gold qualifications. Bonus Miles are the Miles earned used for the obtaining of the bonuses.

Qualifying flights are those flights made exclusively with Royal Air Maroc

The advantages are quite good if you fly a lot with RAM, compared to Gold status for example, also has quite acceptable advantages compared to other airlines.

Gold status includes oneworld Sapphire status and represents the average level of the Safar Flyer program. On flights served by the Moroccan carrier, you benefit from the same advantages as on oneworld alliance flights.

As you can see, the perks so far are very attractive which will allow you to make your flight much more enjoyable as well as being very useful perks when booking short term.

The additional benefits are very attractive and, above all, the bonus on the miles accumulated is very interesting. On the other hand, Class Improvement Vouchers are not that easy to use because the conditions are very restrictive.

Passengers benefit from the Fast Track service allowing them to quickly collect their bagaegs after disembarking from the plane.

With a three-year mileage validity, Safar Flyer Gold members receive a bonus on award miles of 75%.
