Ryanair establishes a base at Tangier airport
Low-cost airline giant Ryanair continues to expand its presence in Morocco by opening a new base at Tangier-Ibn Batouta airport. This opening marks the Irish airline’s fourth base in the country.
The investment for this new hub is estimated at $200 million. Two aircraft will be based in Tangier, allowing Ryanair to operate thirteen new routes. Of these new destinations, five are domestic flights.
The new international destinations include major cities in Europe, thus attracting a significant flow of tourists to Tangier.
Hundreds of job opportunities
The opening of this base also has a significant impact on local employment. Ryanair plans to hire 600 Moroccan employees, including 60 positions specifically for pilots and cabin crew. This initiative is not limited to job creation, but also includes training and development programs for staff.
